Orlion is a student-style observation project about the cooling of water in a cup. The project is intentionally plain and slow.
A cup was filled with warm water and placed on a table.
The water temperature was checked at fixed intervals using a basic thermometer.
The cup was not moved during the observation period.
One cup, warm water, thermometer, and notebook.
Indoor room with normal air temperature.
Measurements were taken every ten minutes.
| Time | Observation |
|---|---|
| 0 minutes | The water was warm and recently poured. |
| 10 minutes | The water temperature was lower but still warm. |
| 20 minutes | The water felt only mildly warm. |
| 30 minutes | The water was close to room temperature. |
The water cooled over time while sitting in the room.
No unusual result was recorded.
The project confirms that warm water in a cup eventually stops being very warm.
